Geoff Johns Award

Medal namesake: Geoff Johns.

About: Geoff Johns was a left handed batsman who played in the clubs 1975-76 first grade premiership. He gave the Trafalgar Cricket Club good service throughout a career that saw him take on a variety of roles, including president for three seasons, secretary for two and one season as first grade captain. His work as a junior coach was also noteworthy, and the player who demonstrates good batsmanship in under 14s cricket is given the award named in his honour. Tragically, Geoff Johns struggled with mental health issues in later life and committed suicide at a relatively young age.
